Switch2Growth Vault

This is the secondary brain for the Switch2Growth business and its side bets. It holds the soft layer — context, narrative, decisions, judgment — that the operational tools can’t.

You write here in Obsidian (laptop, via Nextcloud WebDAV). Claude reads and writes here on the VPS (/root/work/vault) to make informed decisions on your behalf.

  • 20-Clients/ — per-client folders (Bondly) — for your businesses, not your employer
  • 30-People/ — partners, freelancers, interns, key external contacts
  • 40-Projects/ — cross-cutting projects (vs. client-specific in 20-)
  • 50-Operations/ — SOPs, playbooks, runbooks
  • 60-Decisions/ — one decision per file, dated
  • 70-Journal/ — daily + weekly notes
  • 80-Knowledge/ — reference, research, frameworks (AI Implementation, Process Optimization, Finance, Tech, Business)

Rules of thumb

  1. One canonical note per entity. Every person, client, project, side biz has exactly one note; everything else links via [[Name]].
  2. Frontmatter is the API. YAML at the top of every note is how Claude queries. Treat it as a contract — see _templates/.
  3. Vault holds context, not records. If it’s a record (payroll, invoice, task status), it belongs in a tool. The vault holds the why.
  4. Daily note as heartbeat. Write something in 70-Journal/Daily/YYYY-MM-DD.md most days. Claude reads recent dailies to know what’s been happening.
  5. Atomic decisions. Any non-trivial call → one file in 60-Decisions/ with date, context, reasoning, and “revisit if X”.
  6. No employer-confidential data — anywhere. The 15-Career/<Employer>/ folder is for your learning and ramp-up. Client names, internal processes, metrics, anything you wouldn’t say at a conference → not in this vault. See README for the line.
